The TART Trail crossing of Division and Grandview Parkway is BROKEN!
The purpose of the critical mass walk at this intersection was to raise awareness of the safety concerns for pedestrians and urge for needed improvements. These safety concerns are keeping people from using our trail.

Some of the safety concerns are:
• short walk signal duration
• left turning vehicle movements
• lack of yielding to walkers
• inadequate signals and signage

Some possible solutions to improve pedestrian safety are:
• stop west bound (Grandview Parkway) traffic sooner to allow a longer walk phase before the Division Street left turn movements begin
• widen and resurface crosswalk and median
• increase the number of traffic signals to avoid confusion for the pedestrian, i.e., the walker looks up at the signal and sees red, not knowing that the west bound traffic still has a green light.

Division and Grandview Parkway are both state highways and are under MDOT jurisdiction. What can you do about it? Call the following people with the above concerns:
